1. Data Controller

The controller of personal data collected through this website is JV Studio, based in Lisbon, Portugal.

Contact email: geral@jvstudio.pt

2. What Data We Collect

This website has no registration area, builds no profiles and collects no data automatically for advertising or statistics. We only collect data when you send it yourself, through the contact form or by email.

When you fill in the contact form, we collect:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • The message you write
  • The answers you give in the enquiry questionnaire (project type, approximate budget and timeline)

Form submission is processed by Formspree (Formspree, Inc., USA), acting as a processor and delivering your message to us by email. As part of processing and spam protection, Formspree may log technical data such as the submitter’s IP address. See Formspree’s policy at formspree.io.

If you contact us directly by email, we process the data you include in that communication.

3. What We Use the Data For

The data you send us is used only to:

  • Reply to your enquiry
  • Prepare and send you a proposal, where applicable
  • Communicate with you about a possible project
  • Meet legal and tax obligations, should you become a client

We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

Processing is carried out under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), on the following legal bases:

  • Pre-contractual steps and consent · by sending the form or an email, you actively request a reply and provide your data for that purpose (art. 6(1)(a) and (b))
  • Performance of a contract · where processing is necessary to deliver a service you contract
  • Legal obligation · to meet applicable tax and legal obligations

5. How Long We Keep It

We keep data only for as long as each purpose requires:

  • Enquiries and proposals: up to 24 months after the last contact, after which they are deleted
  • Contractual and invoicing data: 10 years, as required by tax law
  • Your language preference: stored in your browser until you clear it

Once the retention period ends, data is securely deleted.

6. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, data subjects have the following rights:

  • Right of access · to obtain confirmation that their data is processed and to access it
  • Right to rectification · to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to erasure · to request deletion of personal data
  • Right to restriction of processing · to request that processing be limited
  • Right to portability · to receive the data in a structured, commonly used format
  • Right to object · to object to processing for certain purposes
  • Right to withdraw consent · at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at geral@jvstudio.pt.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese Data Protection Authority (CNPD) · www.cnpd.pt.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

Nothing non-essential runs before you allow it. On your first visit you are asked for consent, and until you choose, not a single third-party tool is loaded.

There are three categories:

Essential. We store your consent choice in your browser’s local storage, under the key jv_consent. It is not a cookie, it never travels to any server, and it exists only so we do not ask you the same thing twice. Without it the site could not honour your decision.

Analytics. If you allow it, we use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and page views. It uses no cookies, collects no personal data, and does not identify you or follow you across sites. It tells us which pages are worth improving.

Advertising. If you allow it, we load the Google tag (Google Ads), which lets us know whether one of our ads led someone to contact us. This uses Google cookies and involves sharing data with Google Ireland Limited. Google’s privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

You can change your mind at any time, through the Cookies link at the bottom of any page. Declining changes nothing about what you see or what you can do here.

The site is served as static files and, without your consent, stores nothing in your browser that identifies you.

8. Changes to This Policy

JV Studio reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be published on this page with the date of update. We recommend checking this page periodically.
